I can never decide if I want to make fun of this game for being so ham-fistedly 40K or make fun of Games Workshop for pulling out of the deal at the last second and losing out.

Starcraft was origionally gonna be a 40K game which is why the 3 factions are carbon copies of the Imperium of Man, the Tyranids, and the Who Gives a Frick. James Workshop, in his infinite wisdom, decided he didn't want it after all so Blizard tweaked it a bit and released it solo.

This decision probably slowed 40Ks descent into the mainstream sloptrough by like 30 years or however old Starcraft is.

If games workshop is involved the game might have been hot dog shit.

GW video games are usually really fricking good because they just license the IP out and don't do creative interference outside of the neurodivergent lore.

Mechanicus, Dawn of War, and Space Marine are the only non-dogshit 40k games bro what are you smoking.

The Total War games and Vermintide are also great and that Doom clone was also kino. These GW games are surprisingly good.
