I just made my first batch of yellow science.
Blue circuit production and various other things.
Red circuit production with uranium processing barely visible on the left.
Green circuits (yes I am aware this is nowhere near enough production), science , my early coal power, and my newly minted nuclear reactor.
Solar power and accumulators. The scale is completely unnecessary now that I have nuclear power up and running but it will be useful again some day.
Smelting setup for a double line of copper plates.
Fluid processing. I haven't played in a while but fluid processing seems a lot easier than I remember. I spent like half an hour setting it up and since then I have barely had to even think about it.

Just shut it off for dinner but I'm getting the hang of trains. Of course, I completely forgot about space belts and spent WAY too long trying to figure out how to arrange my trains to have red circles and green paint delivered, then the final shape shipped off to the vortex. Stupid me, just use a space belt to a separate Export train line
Unlocking the direct-to-vortex train perk is a gamechanger. I don't even have anything going on at the vortex, it all gets done offshore and delivered straight in

This took me forever. I dunno what it was, but I just could not grasp how train signalling worked. Then I suddenly got it and realized it's actually pretty simple.

I think this is my most complex section rn, repeated three times on that asteroid.
My standard method is to have a single track that goes the whole way along the chain and to the vertex, but have little spurs where a given color needs to reverse (like green and blue seen here). White will be allowed to continue straight, all the way to the vortex. I don't actually have a white train set up yet because I want to finish the pinned tasks before delivering the milestone shape.

Yeah, the last time I played what I did was have a huge loop around my base like a ring road and then have lines from there out to each of my mines. It worked well enough at least for me to launch the rocket.

It is interesting how factory autism can be divided in three distinct groups; outer loop, spiderweb, and central line
