during the event a new reboot game was announced, which seems to include a visual character change with new art and potentially some small story expansions.
HOWEVER,
It IS NOT Steins;Gate ??? , the confirmed sequel to the original game either in planning or active dev.
My guess is that the reboot is to reintroduce the series into the current cultural landscape and then later release it. I believe they want a large amount of traction for this reboot as possible since steins;gate and the Science Adventure series not having any huge memorable games that were the same peak as Steins;Gate. They've been doing a lot of game collabs recently, with stuff like japanese Majhong Gacha games
Overall I think this is a good sign for the series and I'm guessing the Steins;gate ??? will release in late 2026

Its a really slow burn (to the point that anime watchers recommend waiting like 7-9 episodes for it to actually ramp up) that actually gets really good as time goes on but it requires a massive suspension of disbelief and a huge tolerance for well written but extremely annoying dipshits for side characters. It is a fricking hueg and long VN (and the story choices mostly revolve around true ending from anime and "who do you want to date" bullshit), but since anime goes for true ending anyway (and the other relationship options are obvious endings) it is ALWAYS worth to just save time and skip the VN for the anime

It's got a lot of cute waifus and a great story. I spent like 30 hours and enjoyed all of it. The characters are enjoyable and it has many little side stories to flesh them out along with the main plot, which isn't a big thing until a point where shit hits the fan all at once

It's stupid and the whole premise is the equivalent of western pop-science slop for Jap g*mers. The characters are boring 1-dimensional cutouts that exist as part of several dating sim routes.
It's the worst kind of slop that appeals to the biggest subhumans imaginable.
