What was the last videogame people got hyped for? Maybe I just don't care about videogames anymore like I used to be but do people still anxiously wait for a release or go at extreme lengths to get a copy of X game (which is not even a thing anymore since almost all releases are digital)
Ion Fury Aftershock, anything UNDERTALE or DELTARUNE and UFO 50 (although that last one was much milder)
I was also kinda hyped for Knuckle Sandwich due to its long development period, good music and really surprising demo but it completely fricked everything up and vanished without a trace on release.
I just remembered. The last game that I was absolutely giddy for for an extended period was Cuphead ...and it fricking delivered.
CP 2077 hype was huge. Personally stopped caring by the first gameplay trailer, everything looked jank. Glad those concerns were baseless and the game absolutely delivered at launch!
I can't remember anything afterwards that people were really excited for, but I also kinda stopped caring about games as much. GTAVI will definitely be the next big one tho.
The only thing I've bought (or played) completely new since Hotline Miami 2 (10 years ago) was the recent Ion Fury expansion Aftershock, which turned out to be kind of disappointing. Not bad, just not as good as the original.
Before that I had high hopes for Europa Universalis 4, but by the time it came out I completely lost interest in it (because of what was shown off, and because I got tired of gsgs.
What I'm getting at is that I haven't really been excited about a video game since I was about 17.

I'd probably play it. Seems more in depth than amongus and if it's a 1v1 type game where each player has control of a couple pawns and there's random NPC types then it'd be pretty cool
