I made a comment yesterday speculating that Bioware would probably turn a profit based on player numbers translating into approximate sales, but not by a comfortable margin. After hearing a little more about development costs ranging from $80 - $150 million (before advertisements as well), I have doubts that they'll even reach that. For an AA game these numbers would be pretty good, but for a AAA studio, they need to sell a lot more copies to recoup development costs.

This definitely isn't another Concord tier flop, but I wouldn't bet on the game being a commercial success just yet either.

Na this game is a flop. It would have to move 3 to 4 million units at least to even break even if it held a budget similar to the other 200M games that have come out this year with a similar development time (and that's without steam taking it's cut).

But I did mean it when I said I would concede if it wasn't an undisputed flop. The fact we're crunching numbers is enough for me to just dead it.
