The reaction to this game is all over the place. Last I've seen Asmongold played it and actually thought it was decent other than the dialogue. And redditors at /r/dragonage are in complete meltdown about how shit this game is.

It might be a matter of expectations. Chuds fully expect the game to be woke going in. They have no hopes for the writing, but find themselves pleasantly surprised by the other aspects (if they actually play it).
Bioware nerds are hoping for a "return to form" masterpiece and set their expectations high, but find that the writing is actually kind of childish.
