Vidya is so weird. The johns obviously never held or fired weapons before when they made wolf3d and doom so the straight in front weapon profile is awkward and unrealistic but when everyone made the side profile, while slightly more realistic it’s not remotely close to low ready or even ready from the hip. Even holding a rifle like that would get tiring after long, pistol even worse because so many vidya designers seem to think that we’re still all single handed using 1911s like thryre ask weilding mine detectors and radios like instructed in wwii

Games are inherently abstracted, if you want the real deal go step on an IED in the middle east.

Part of it is to save viewable screen space. Other games like PUBG have that view where you aim down the iron sights, but yeah their "hip fire" wouldn't be intuitive enough for the g*mer because the gun would be off the screen if it was realistic.
