I know I'm a few years too late to this, but just what exactly was Nomura thinking with the Time Jannies? It may be quite literally the stupidest plot choice I've ever seen in an otherwise competent game.

For those not really in the know, Time Jannies were the masterful decision to just have ghosts fill the screen and manipulate characters and events, that way they don't deviate from the original timeline

It's just fricking unbelievable how they take away all agency from the characters and tension from the major turning points in the story. What's even more bewildering is when I sought out user reactions, the frickwits on reddit and other forums praised their inclusion and looked forward to seeing their role in the story. During pivotal moments ghosts just flood in and rearrange the characters to fit the scene like they're dolls. CLEAN IT UP TIME JANNIES!

I have mixed feelings about Nomura. He has a certain anime style that people like and can be quite tasteful when done, tasteful in the sense that 14 year old boys will find it cool. He reminds me of Tim Burton in that he has got a bit too far up his own butthole as he's aged and needs some producer to tardwrangle him back in a bit.

The game is otherwise really good. It's pure nostalgia bait, the over-the-top extra stuff added in is Nomura but the beats from the original are all there. There's so much effort and talent that's gone into balancing realism, anime theatrics and the feel of the OG game. The combat system is fun and a nice twist on ABT.

A lot of users on here seem to think they stand on some sort of moral high-ground because they're choosing to spend $70 instead of $90 because they don't want to "buy into Blizzard's greed". One thing I wish to impart on those users: Good for you, but that doesn't make you a better person. All of us who decided to spend the extra $20 in order to play today, we're all consumers just like you.

We work hard for our money and we'll spend it however we like. Blizzard has something of value (playing Diablo 5 days early) and consumers are willing to pay for it.That's how the world works. Let us have our fun and stop trying to ruin the experience for the rest of us. Edit: We have some salty/unruly/rude members of this subreddit commenting on this post. The ABEMA Times news site reported on Thursday that the prosecution in the insider trading case of game programmer and director Yuji Naka is recommending that Naka serves 2.5 years in jail and pays a 2.5 million yen fine in addition to a 170 million yen penalty, for a total of 172.5 million yen (about US$1.24 million).

The prosecution stated in a Tokyo district court on Thursday that Naka "had no feelings of remorse" for the crime and "committed the crime with clear malicious intent."

The prosecution said in an opening statement that Naka allegedly bought 130,000 shares and made 20 million yen (about US$146,600) in profits after finding out about upcoming new games in the Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy series.

The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office first arrested Naka on November 18 on suspicion of insider trading. The arrest was connected with the arrests of former Square Enix employee Taisuke Sasaki and his acquaintance Fumiaki Suzuki. Sasaki and Suzuki allegedly invested in the company aiming after they learned that it was developing the Dragon Quest Tact smartphone game in collaboration with Square Enix.

The same prosecutors office arrested Naka a second time on December 7, on suspicion of insider trading, or buying/selling stock on the basis of nonpublic information. While still at Square Enix, Naka allegedly invested in Ateam, developers of the company's Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier mobile game, prior to the game's announcement. Former Square Enix employee Taisuke Sasaki was also once again arrested for the same reason. They are suspected of purchasing about 120,000 shares of Ateam for about 144.7 million yen (about US$1 million).

Pushed in by Jagex to reflect their own political values. Gay pride used to mean pride in the face of real hatred. Now being gay is completely accepted in developed nations, and Gay Pride is used for PR reasons and nothing else.

It's also a fantasy medieval video game, real life politics from either side shouldn't have a place in it.

Some of the seethe was because back then any new content had to be polled by paying players and had to have 75% yes votes, and the pride event was the first to not be polled.

Been playing Crying Suns. This game feels like If FTL: Faster Than Light had listened to too much MCR in high school. It’s good, but you can see it’s maybe too inspired by other things, even if it’s fun. Also GDQ has been pretty bad. A few decent runs.

Doesn’t try anything new really, just takes what I’ve always loved about Diablo into the latest generation, can’t ask for much more. My only gripe so far at level 25 is the level scaling. I’ve always hated mobs scaling to your level on games and think whoever first came up with this system should be shot.

Asides from half life. been playing a bunch of blade and sorcery, but it's pretty jank and I can only beat up so many women before starting to feel like an incel, so it's a once a week thing at most. Tried bonelabs but it was just a weak tutorial level before some Gmod sandbox I don't really care about.

Beatsaber kinda sucks though I hate rhythm games normally so it's not a surprise .

So correct me if I am using the wrong gender, but recently I was looking back at the game Beyond Two Souls, and was wondering why Cage snuck in a naked image of Elliot/Ellen Page in the game as it was rather shocking that Cage thought he could get away with that sort of imagery.

I know that Elliot goes by male pronouns, but I am not sure if it's ok to call his character Jodie by a female pronoun as the character he played at the time was a girl, so again, correct me if I am using the wrong term.
