Let me first state that I’m not offended by any Chappelle bits. I’ve seen Dave live and hold him in the highest regard.

That being said, I’m so tired of this subject. Feels like it’s been the major part of his last 3 specials. I just don’t find myself laughing at his latest work. I don’t even disagree with what he’s saying. I understand they’ve tried cancelling him and it’s natural to defend himself. Totally understandable. But holy shit is this topic not going anywhere. It almost feels like the cancel culture folks are winning because he’s so focused on battling it out with them every special.

Let me sum that up and translate:

Imagine being a "fan" of stand up enough to join a sub about it then not see the absolute destruction PC culture has done to stand up.

Half of those here to defend Dave Chappelle's "free speech" were upset because "Nanette wasn't comedy." It's incredibly frustrating to see the obvious bias on this sub.

Very hypocritical of these free speech people to say they like some things and also say they don't like other things

I watch comedians for humor. Not 90 minutes of white racism and "Can't do no wrong" victimization of black people.

Goddarn Chapelle really is the GOAT. His specials were good, but the impotent seething about them is really the cherry on top.

The bit was really funny. I will say though, be cognizant of the limits of your own knowledge and don’t attempt to wade into a substantive conversation about this topic unprepared ;p you clearly possess a robust understanding of certain dynamics of this phenomenon, which allowed you craft this bit, but I think to really give the bit longevity, and really just as a general rule for any comedian, you should always acknowledge in any conversations that may arise afterwards that it is just a joke and that you’re not claiming to be an expert on political philosophy or governance 😁 that way the joke remains a joke and not a proselytizing mission.

Remember people, this all started from the two ideas that one group of people is not allowed to say nono words followed by it's no longer allowed to make r*pe jokes on TV. the lesson here is never let a good man or woman in charge unless they guarantee you the exact point they will stop.

I’m so confused, what even is this sub? Is it just really edgy satire? That might aswell be t_d by it’s sincerity. Then I saw some comments saying that it’s welcoming of all people and just to ignore those who say anything rude, which was upvoted, but then so was a reply which intentionally misgendered someone??
