Half of those here to defend Dave Chappelle's "free speech" were upset because "Nanette wasn't comedy." It's incredibly frustrating to see the obvious bias on this sub.

Very hypocritical of these free speech people to say they like some things and also say they don't like other things

God Nanette was rough watching. Actual anti-comedy. It might be funny on some meta level of irony higher than I can achieve.

I really wanted to try and sit through it, but the positive reviews scared me off more than the negative ones.

If Nanette is on so many layers of irony she's in some sort of parallel universe where those jokes are actually funny, then that's a pretty good bit. About as good as Sam Hyde taking steroids and HGH, eating like a pig and never working out.

r/standup is being very biased by liking something that was stand up comedy and not liking something that wasn't

The whole point of Nanette was there was zero jokes. Ive seen a lady on twitter argue this too. Those darn men who say they like when comedy makes people uncomfortable are hypocrites because they never laughed at a bad woman comic not telling jokes and instead make fun of her accent when she says she was roiped
