Honestly pings should just not award DC so people only join ping groups they actually want to be notified from. Maybe the cost of pinging a group should go to a pool that the ping group owner can spend on ping group goodies, or maybe just to a running total that point groups can compete on. The current implementation makes no sense. @Aevann
