The .ru adress had been around for more than a year though iirc. It wasnt a replacement but a fallback option.

Okay well... using it was bad optics. I'm not saying that KF is or was some Russian op, but what I am saying is that appearing Russian (like using a .ru TLD) right now is a pretty poor choice if you want to want anyone to come to your defense given the current geopolitical situation

Especially with the sanctions that exist currently, a lot of companies are gonna play it safe because OFAC violations are serious stuff
