I live near Portland. Even in the city, few people wear masks outdoors, and thos ethat do look exactly how you would expect.

I see the occasional 25yo wh*te woman obnoxiously jogging with a surgical mask on, but where I see the most outdoor mask usage is among street people. The junkies and lunatics really take it seriously for some reason.

They tend to loiter near transit stations where they spend all day getting yelled at by rent-a-cops for not wearing masks. Then they leave the stations and keep wearing them for whatever reason.

The city is so fricking nasty. Every open section of city owned property is either an encampment or a trash heap. Don't believe a word someone says if they say the problem isn't that bad. Even the "good" areas are filthy. If you call the police because some schizo meth head is trespassing, they won't send anyone until it gets violent.
