Is it true that there are two opposing sides which fight for dominance in America?

What are your opinions. Is this true, are there really 2 parties or is it one group which stays in control but moves from side to side? It seems very silly to me that a state would really allow for such instability, it must be a distraction and security against the leadership.

It's less about any sort of single controlling group and more about the nature of humanity.

A huge % of people are r-slurred and can be convinced that whatever problems they have are due to (current establishment) and therefore swing back and forth every election because they think the grass is alwags greener on the other side.

Everyone else is r-slurred in the exact opposite way, and think that all of their problems are because of (other team) working behind the scenes to hold them back and "undoing" progress every time the first group of people swings the pendulum.

In a parliamentary system this still happens but the effects of it are diluted by your alternative option being different depending on where you live.
