French colonies around the world have been failures tho. Just compare French Haiti to England's Jamaica or Spain's Dominican Republic. Or how the French exit from their Asian colonies was easily the most humiliating L a European colonial power has taken in that region.

Dominican Republic is a primarily Latinx country rather than Afro-Caribbean one like Haiti or Jamaica tho but yeah it’s doing way better than Haiti, even having done ethnic cleansing against Haiti immigrants for causing economic problems in addition to hate for Haiti having ruled over the whole island.
