I know a guy IRL who edited Wikipedia. A walking meme: long messy hair, squeaky voice, literally neurodivergent, enby tomboy aspie gf, sings in a choir, loves crotchet and medieval cooking recipes, is a math genius (as in literally winning prizes and appearing in newspapers), and has nuclear takes such as "women shaving should literally be a crime". I knew he was an aspie before I knew him, I could guess just from his FB profile pic.
Well, even for that guy Wikipedia jannies were too much, he quit after a few months.

I love editing Wikipedia. Turns out the in pop culture sections do have standards of notability, and having the subject of the article be mentioned in passing is not good enough. I take great joy in going through and nuking them. I love knowing that some fatass sperg spent time and effort documenting how Rick and Morty, MLP, or their favorite anime or video game mentioned a topic and thus needs to be included, and I just went and deleted it with the edit note "Not of encyclopedic value". Same thing where you find a media series where someone went ahead and made separate character pages for everyone in it. Nope. All that shit is getting deleted, and if you complain I'll cite the exact standards as well as pass your account up to the admins for "wasting resources on personal projects".

Contrary to what Wiki editors say, sourcing doesn't really matter. If you add something completely unsourced, but that agrees with what the editors want the article to say, you'll find no opposition. Conversely, write something they don't like and, no matter how well-sourced, they'll nitpick and lawyer to keep it out. That's how any remotely controversial figure's page becomes little more than a hit piece.
