the problem is that bachelor degrees outside of some STEM subjects are just too darn easy to get. The market is flooded. Ideally, if you get a literature or business degree you should be able to write, speak, and think leagues ahead of some one with no degree. As it stands now, you pretty much just need to pay and show up, all that paper shows is that you were able to get a loan and can open a door.

It happened mid to late 90s too with Computer Science degrees. The number of losers I know who were told "You like talkie boxes, you should learn to make boxes talk" and then found out there were 1 of several million low achievers with similar qualifications... whew lad
