this is what I mean, the best they can hope for is the same as the conservitards yet they think they won big. I don't understand this at all. Rs think they lost big when they didn't and Ds think they won big when they didn't.
I need more booze to understand this shit

the incumbent Dem president is unpopular, there is high inflation, crime and worsening economy, and the opposition party always gains bigly in midterms.
Everyone was expecting this to be a Republican jihad on par with 2010, and instead it's a complete wet fart.
If this is the reality when circumstances favour Republicans, what happens when circumstances favour Democrats?
It points to a grand conflict or schism in the Rep party, one that probably leads to a reckoning (i.e. giant step to the left) or becoming a rump institution/no longer existing.
Young people are turning out more often, and they're something like 3:1 for Democrats.
Imo the biggest factor was Covid killing mostly old people. When you consider that over-60s are overwhelmingly Republican, it seems likely that nearly 1 million high-turnout GOP voters died from 2020-22. Crippling blow.

i'm curious about that statistic. Not sure if the disparity is that great but if it is I would not be surprised. Dems got an early lock on social media and they have used it pretty effectively. Pathological liars and grifters on it but still effective.

This was the ratio bandied about on arcon and arneoliberal earlier.
Apparently it's incorrect. It's 63% Dem and 35% Repub.
I think the 18-29 demo is about as Dem as it's always been, it's just that their turnout is increasing and the oldies are dying off.
30-44 age was 4 points to the Dems.
Edit: the erroneous figure may have come from the Pennsylvanian Senate race, where young people voted 70%/28% in favour of Dems.
