Elon is sending his golems to terrorize this man and his family. :marseyohno: "They terrorized my family off of Twitter. This isn’t about free speech." :marseyohno:

This Army combat veteran is fearing for the safety of his family after Musk announced his amnesty plan. I really feel for the guy, it's disgusting that we treat our veterans like this.

LGBTQ and POC activists or just regular people trying to live their lives having it all exposed because laws don’t even exist to stop it in most places.

If Musk goes through with this it will cost lives in the real world.

"People will LITERALLY DIE."

You can laugh it off but when your kids being targeted because some weirdo is mad about a tweet you sent in anger one day you will change your mind in a hurry.

I really emphasize with his point of view now that I've taken the time to think about what it would be like to be in his shoes. Imagining my family getting attacked by violent chuds is not very bussin.

Didn't Elon say that accounts that broke the law would be banned?

Also it's not hard to get around twitter bans if someone is actually wanting to harm you

Extremely easy. You can make one with just an email, they'll try and lock your account after to get you to add a phone number but just message support and say "My fresh account was locked for no reason and I don't have a non-voip phone" and they should unlock it after a day or two.

Doxing doesn't break the law, nor does online "harassment".

Death threats would

Eh, only if credible, which is a far higher bar to clear than the permanently online think.

Sure, but now telling someone to kill himself is a "death threat". Telling someone "I hope you die" is a "death threat". The word has lost all meaning to the point where you should automatically assume someone is lying if they say they've received any.

Now? I've never believed anyone's claims of getting death threats.
