I once had an emergency room psychiatrist refuse to screen me for austism, because (and I quote) “suicidal behaviour is not a trait of autism”. Suicide is the #2 leading cause of death in neurodivergent adults. A degree means jackshit if you refuse to continue educating yourself after graduating half a century ago.

That just doesn't sound like the job for an emergency shrink. I'd assume those are there to stop people from pulling the trigger or taking the plunge, not make routine diagnosis. That shit can wait a day or fifty years, not something you need imwithin the hour.
