I noticed the NBA has two types of women sports journos: the ones who clearly had to over compensate and are Uber-nerds about basketball to the point of being overly technical and the over confident girl who doesn't know shit but that doesn't stop her!
With men the dumb ones are usually the color guys, usually ex-athletes and are funny.

Seriously, i could just imagine myself being a TV commentator for my own job, I would act like I knew every important thing about x cuz being hyper critical is easy
Being a good teacher/expert at your job != being a good communicator
You could be amazing at your job and still suck because you'll inherently hate every substandard player and think you know better, without ever spending time thinking how to make them not suck with words
