I really do think there's a reasonable base distrust for the jab about new mRNA stuff and r-slurred government and media being inconsistent about coof and all that, but I also think 80% of antivax sentiment is pretty r-slurred because 80% is usually followed up with some conspiracy theory rabbit hole or autist screed (larping as some kind of sociopath ubermensch navy seal) about COVID only kills fats and olds or whoever blah, blah r-slurred.
But. Honestly, I almost want the vax to mutate and kill and cripple all of us who took it, just to spite how smug and asinine these frickers are. They get fricking high off this shit, roleplaying that they're going to get jobs a Lockheed or something because some boomers will quit, excited to go stazi over this shit like it doesn't sound awful even if you fully support it.

In my experience most people are somewhere in the middle - either slightly skeptical of the vax or just making the personal decision to get it without screaming at anyone. And there's a significant overlap here too.
Its a vocal minority panicking about covid / vax side effects. Plus politicians want to look like they're doing something so they end up putting contradictory or ineffective legislation in place.

true but there has been too much economic investment because of the lockdowns. you could call it sunk cost fallacy, but I think there's a pretty substantial death rate to just take it on the nose.

Letting it rip would be really really bad, so I'm ok with lockdowns to 'flatten the curve' to not overwhelm the hospitals. But if at current levels the hospitals are not overwhelmed, then I'm not too worried about unvaxinated people.
For me the worrying part is not even the death rate, it's the long covid... it's not really well defined, how long it lasts, what are the consequences. This is what convinced me to get vaccinated. (I'm a low risk case)

Pretty much yah. At least for me the docs did tell me that they have no fricking idea what happens to me 20 years down the line. Not for internet quacks. Either covid vaxx is jesus juice or it makes you zomboid with mindcontrol from 5G towers. What's to be expected from "journ*lism" that has been selling out for decades since nobody wants to pay for it. But yeah these frickers want to bring down stand-up comedy and any form of fun presumably to skyrocket suicide rates all over.

Virtually everyone is too r-slurred to spend 5 minutes researching how mRNA vaccines work.
