its not true. it is more like if you are hanging with someone, you explicitly ask your parents and his parents if you can have dinner with them. it is culture that you go home for dinner time. it is not true that we let kdis literally starve lmao

That's fricking weird, though. If I hung out with my friends as a kid, I knew for a fact that they'd feed me no matter what. You have to have parent communication of some sort - that's crazy shit. Just feed children in you flat, how hard can it be?!?

when I grew up parent to parent communication was not really a thing might have changed but still the culture is the same: you go home at dinner time, if you wanna stay, have a convo with you parents to approve and he should have a convo with his.

That just wasn't a thing. Obviously if your families were acquaintances/friends - yeah. But if I just happened to play football with a kid and then go on our bikes somewhere to get apples - and end up in his place - his parents would absolutely feed me no matter what. It's weird that there is a case where some wouldn't.

It's even weird that you could find a situation where it's (starving children) - normal....

Scandinavians are definitely on an neurodivergent level at or exceeding German levels. Just a bit differently though, like in a socially awkward sense, instead of an obsessive one. Perhaps the English are also neurodivergent, just a bit differently? Maybe when it comes to schedule and following the rules?

It's only really a thing with kids informally visiting their friends, every other type of friendly visit I've had you'll almost always be offered drink/food.
