I haven’t really read anything about the incident ever since the day after it happened. I initially saw SF/dude was apparently in his underwear/prominent politician and thought it could’ve been some homo stuff. It all seemed very hush-hush as well so I never followed up on it.
I imagine if there was really something to the ‘politically motivated’ angle, leftoids that I know personally would’ve been whining about stochastic terrorism or some shit. Considering the media and many lefties were still whining about 1/6 18 months later, they should be happy to play up the “prominent Dem attacked in his own home!!!” angle

the reason you can be sure it wasn't politically motivated is because it was blasted all over the news very very briefly then memory holed. Idk about the gay hookup thing but it was definitely something personal and embarrassing for Pelosi so it just got stuffed back in the closet with her other skeletons.
