Teachers posting their Ls: :marseyblack: student threatens to have his dad beat :marseyishygddt: crakkka butt teacher up, other teachers sneed about their similar experiences

https://old.reddit.com/r/Teachers/comments/10xzpd3/why_do_the_students_have_more_protections_than_we

This morning, I had a student threaten me and threaten to have his father come "beat my cracka butt up." So I called the SRO, he took him for a threat, and I'm told by admin to write him up. Then I'm told nothing will happen to the student because I "antagonized him".

He's back in class, and instead I get reprimanded by Admin for "poorly handling the situation" and "tieing their hands" so they can't do anything. What the frick is this? What am I suppose to do?

maybe stop being such a racist mayofoid

apparently the admin misinterpreted her at first and let her file a report, which will presumably go straight into the trash bin

Got the same reaction out of a death threat given to me, and in fact got an HR disciplinary meeting because I had made the student act that way by closing their computer while they repeatedly played loud games while their peers were doing project presentations. Apparently that was "stopping to teenage levels of pettiness."

:marseywhirlyhat::marseysneed:

Because somewhere along the way, parents got the idea that teaching is a customer service role, and admin has usually done nothing to dissuade them of this notion.

teachers are more cucked than wagies :marseyxd:

We had a student that literally tried to fight the principal and he's back at school.

:marseyblm::marseygivecrown::marseykneel: imagine the reputation you'd have among your classmates for pulling this off

I know teachers.

There's a kid (5th grade) who beats up girls tinier than him.

If the girls fight back they get in trouble. He never does because he is "Special ed"

Admin protects him at every turn

Edit:

there's a good ending, parents figured out how to get criminal charges on the kid beating up their daughters. Kid will be a felon in a couple years.

That's not a good ending. That's poor young boy doesn't even have a chance at life now.

This isn’t even a new thing, speds have been getting away with violence for decades. Schools are so fricked they don’t ever intervene until felony charges are pressed.

it's relatively new. it started getting worse in the 90's/early 2000's.

My fairly :marseytimmy: big family :marseyfamily: is mostly nurses/teachers or in the education/medical field in some capacity so I got my ear on the ground.

This kid doesn't have a learning disability. A lot of kids :marseyksg: in SPED :marseyretard3: have no really identifiable learning disability. They simply have unresolved behavior issues and the education system :marseymars: just :marseyblops2chadcel2: refuses to accept :marseyokay: that some kids :marseyksg: need to be punished :marseypunished2: and given very strict, consistent boundaries.

Are we so old that 90’s/early 2000 is relatively new? :marseyscared:

I was talking with an Uber driver that loved some new song that I thought was Eiffel 65 blue. They were shocked I knew the original and then I realized that came out in β€˜98

It’s a great song. Admittedly people were weird about that song. I had an undergrad professor play it every class

Do you remember what music you were talking about? I'm curious

I was saying something about how Pavement was on Austin City Limits and how they were all goofy butt and dad looking now. And how it was kind of bittersweet and depressing. Then maybe Sonic Youth came up since they share a bassist. I feel like The Cardigans came up too.

Isn't Pavement the band Pitchfork had a hardon for in the early 2000s, the only band that got 10/10 multiple times

Isn't pitchfork one that never rates shit poorly? But probably not, their heyday was really more early to mid 90s. Pretty significant in defining alternative music that came to dominate the era. I think their biggest 2 albums were like 91 and 95 maybe.

But I'm pretty sure they have at least one and maybe 2 albums on rolling stones top 500

Smaller, weaker speds are also the main victims of these violent ones. So letting bad behavior slide due to some misguided form of tard love is actually detrimental to the ones who are really vulnerable.

This is how soys trap themselves in this weird spiral of "we can't treat them as perpetrators because akchually they're statistically more likely to be victims" so they don't have to do anything and still feel smug about being aware or sth.
