r/BadPatients: a sub where Nurses can rant about problematic patients

Let's make a sub where nurses anonymously brag about mistreating "bigoted" patients.

EDIT: r/BadPatients has been created. Speak your truth, healthcare heroes!

We had an older patient admitted with Pancreatitis. Was a decent patient at first, would make jokes (they were slightly sexist but nothing Iโ€™m not used to), and overall kept to himself. Eventually, one of the nurses overheard a conversation with his partner. Turns out heโ€™s an avid anti-vaxxer.

This is so infuriating. Of course he believes in medicine now that itโ€™s convenient.

What should I do? Iโ€™m planning on underdosing his morphine when I do rounds next. Maybe hint that morphine has a higher risk of death than vaccinations? Heโ€™s due for an operation tomorrow so this is time sensitive.

I think the content of this is good, but framing it as a plan and asking for advice feels like it is much more likely to get the sub banned, and makes it feel less realistic. Nurses are generally entitled know it alls, and would likely do these things themselves and then vent about them rather than crowdsourcing opinions.

Just relating this same thing as a story "I underdosed his morphine later on, if he hates science and medicine so much I don't see why he deserves its benefits." would be much better, IMO.
