I think different people have different definitions of what constitutes “cooking.”

My bar is pretty low, if you’re taking raw ingredients and mixing them to make a new thing I consider that cooking.

learning to cook died out in the 90s when kids got told en masse "teaching girls to cook is sexist!". So it became an interest thing, only some boys bothered (and girls in conservative homes, but they don't count).

If you can cook it is likely you surround yourself with people who give a shit in general AND care about details. Doubly so if you can bake a thing with leavened dough. You being willing to cook for a guy on the regular WILL make him more attracted to you by A LOT. Bussy or kitty enjoyer, doesn't matter.
