God did not compel Abraham to save his son. This has nothing to do with free will. God simply appeared before Abraham through an angel he sent. It was Abraham's free will that saved his son, not God. However, God did have a hand in Abraham's decision. Why is this hand not present when faced with the same scenario (abortion)? Clearly, it is because those who choose to abort have God's blessing to do so.

What a ridiculous conclusion to draw from that. The only reason God sent an angel was to belay the order he had given earlier for Abraham to sacrifice his son. They'd be punished for rejecting what they perceived as God's will. If they get an abortion, God knew all along that they would reject his angel but had to test their faith before punishing them. Once they go through any consequence of their sin, they will have been redeemed in the eyes of God and thus fulfill his overall Plan. If they never experience consequences for their abortion, we can conclude it was God's will, as there was no punishment to be given.
