99% sure it can be fixed by eliminating any relative units that go into the sizing of the modal. Probably a JS one liner to fix if you just get the images calculated position and size and set it to that instead of the relative units you were using. This will introduce other minor bugs and inconsistencies but if you make it IOS only it will fix carps issue and ppl can live with the other bugs.

I’m too busy to sort through the codebass and then build it and test it ugh so sorry it won’t get fixed by me for a bit.

on a second thought i'm too tired, just add

padding-right: 0 !important;

to .modal and it should work. bootstrap for some reason tries to add padding on zoom and that makes it broken. i think this is the easiest way to fix it without shitting bootstrap's js
