Turkroach runoff incoming?

/r/Europe is having a meltdown over Erdogan likely winning the runoff election.
He'll probably make inflation even worse, fire another central bank head, then screw up housing to followup, then start another fight with Greece, etc. I think he might view himself as a "caliphate".

Also everyone is obviously focused on the presidential elections but also important is that Erdogan's alliance has cleaned house legislatively at currently possibly over 50% of the popular vote. They still probably won't have a majority even if they do get 50+ but they've gained seats besides.

Yeah, I was just reading about this a second ago. I think this election really is of extreme importance. Erdogan controls the media, courts, police, army, and the multi-billion dollar construction projects he hands out to his cronies. All the people have left is elections. If he's in power for another 5 years he'll take that away too.
This is probably their last chance to get rid of him peacefully. And even if the oppositions gets more of the vote, there's no guarantee that he won't rig it or just refuse to leave office.

Bad news: it's headed for a runoff. (50.0-44.2-5.3-0.5 AKP-CHP-ATA-Ince) at the time of writing this.
Good news: ATA appears to be a chuddier, more anti-refugee breakaway from the AKP, and they'll probably come home in a runoff.

This is why the CIA would never allow it tho. Things must not, will not, be happening.
Jump in the discussion.
No email address required.
You're the first tard on this site to recognize that when the CIA is interfering in foreign countries, it's usually to stabilize the situation. US foreign policy since the early Cold War has been obsessed with stability, reflexively trying to maintain it even when there should be change.
But the CIA has virtually zero power in Turkey. After the coup attempt he had hundreds of thousands of people arrested or fired from their jobs. Anyone who would want to work with the CIA was caught up in that.
Also, there's going to be chaos even if Erdogan stays in power because his braindead policies are causing the economy to fall apart. To get stability, you need someone who won't frick with the interest rates and stuff like that.

Under Biden they seem to be doing a lot more International Liberalism, e.g. supporting Lula and telling Bolsonaro NOT to do a coup.
Though that could just be stablemaxxing too, China is quite similar. They usually dislike border changes because they have a ton of disputes that they don't want to be redrawn in anyone else's favor. That, and their ideology is quite contradictory to its symbolism, and is thus quite unfit for export.

They are saying that in the places the other guy won, the AKP people are demanding recount which slows down those places being reported. That's also why at that poll at the start erdogan was at 59% and now down to 50%.

And I thought my fellow rightoids were schizo! Wasn't it because the Gulenists switched from Erdogan to launching a coup to get rid of him (presumably with the help of secularists in the military), and the like? The Turkish military has couped governments it considered too religious or leftoid pretty often in the past.
Jump in the discussion.
No email address required.
Yeah, I think the Gulenists and certain factions of the military decided it was their last chance since they were getting purged. Which is ironic because when the Gulenists were allied with Erdogan they were making up bullshit accusations and fabricated evidence against generals.
