I had a guy recently who told me he was tired of rowing my boat, that I wanted him to kiss the ring, and I needed to consult with the congregation. He was upset because I told him he needed to pay his rent on time. He had lost his latest job because he called someone a peckerwood and his claim is the current presidential administration prevents him from succeeding in life. He also went to jail recently for family violence.
But me working my butt off for decades, putting myself through college with no help from family, and going without for years to save money to buy my investments, I am the bad guy.
Look at the landlord love sub, they wish violence on landlords.
They think rent is 100% profit but don't understand taxes, insurance, maintenance, deadbeats.

How do I not let it get to me? To be frank, I evaluate people for the skills and value that they offer. I notice that there's a correspondence between weakness, lack of skills (self-control, discipline, education, intelligence, social, financial, etc.) and I recognize that blaming is simply part of the pattern of the weak.
I respect my betters, because I know what makes them better than me. I disrespect my lessers because I know what makes them lesser than me. I ground myself in the truth. I'm not at the top. I'm not at the bottom. I am where I am. They are where they are.
Then you live with it knowing that they are who they and you are, know what their drivers are and you focus on what's important.

I became a landlord a couple years ago because I liked the meme. I live in one of the most expensive places to live in Canada and the wages are dogshit. I'm middle class as frick and had to leverage my house to be able to buy a second property. I've spent years of my life working in bumfrick nowhere, away from home to be able to do it. When I go into the renty's place and I see more money in shoes than I've spent on clothes in the last ten years, and he drives a car that would have costed more than I've spent on vehicles in my entire life, and I'm supposed to have compassion for these people? The hate for landlords makes me smile. Keep seething renties, the first of the month will always be around the corner. The first of the month will never stop.
