It all started in /r/CoaxedIntoASnafu, when /u/Fun_Effective_5134 posted the following Snafu with the title "That actually happened to me once":
The post was relatively well-received, receiving ~2300 upmarseys. That would have made it the 8th most popular post in the sub of the last month, however, it's worth noting that its upmarsey ratio of 87% makes it significantly more controversial than the previous "top posts of the month", of which none had an upmarsey ratio of below 96%. Of course, the post has since been mopped up by jannies
The top comments are fairly reasonable:
karma farmers hiding behind the impenetrable shield of "transphobe bad" as they get karma for posting the lowest quality shit you've ever seen
+961
being trans does not exempt you from being painfully unfunny
That idiotβs probably not even trans. Karma farmers be Johnny Sins in this b-word, theyβre everything and anything if it means they get their sweet imaginary points.
+488, with a bonus reply
The third-top comment is zoomer (IDK) meme-nonsense, but gives our , /u/walkingtalkingclone, their most visible reply:
real
You wanna know what's also real, Op actually getting banned for making an insensitive joke about trans people committing suicide.
To which someone replies:
if thats true this post sucks real bad but like. when n where did that happen
The proof is a link to an unddit comment which is your standard chud "ma suicide statistics" joke. Yikes, not a good look for the OP
There are a couple of other replies, but also a couple from some other users who have noticed just how many comments this user is making:
darn neighbor get a life
I'm surpised that wasn't nuked. Did the lack of a "hard R" save it?
Holy shit get a hobby bro. Commenting this in every reply
And they just about were. I'm going to put them in order so you can see the timeline.
00:07 (GMT):
I find that hard to believe
Their first comment: a reply to the post itself.
00:11:
Username checks out
A reply to someone else arguing about posting a trans flag to scare the Snafu OP
00:13:
The only time I ever see this too often is if sorting by new on 196 and they don't even end up getting a ton of upmarseys.
This is a reply to their first comment at 00:07. At least we know they're honest, /r/196 would never upmarsey a "trans rights!" post
00:29:22 (Adding seconds now because I need the precision for the next one ):
[Link to unddit] This you?
So we know they spent 16 minutes trawling through the OP's history, including going over to unddit to see if there was anything truly juicy
00:30:12:
"Unfortunate how the second one has a 82% chance to end his life during battle for the Emperor." [Link to unddit] and here are the receipts
40 seconds later!
They then continue to spam wherever they find a comment that gives them the slightest segue
00:32:
Oh boy then youre sure gonna hate OP. "Unfortunate how the second one has a 82% chance to end his life during battle for the Emperor." [Link to unddit]
00:34:
The joke about trans people suicide commented by op sure seems unfunny to me
00:37:
What about Ops non-empathy towards trans suicide shown through the actual comment they made?
00:39:
Yeah, Im an r-slur but Op's actual comment was a very insensitive thing about trans suicide.
00:40:
Its too bad Op actually got banned for making an insensitive joke about trans people committing suicide.
00:42:
You wanna know what's also real, Op actually getting banned for making an insensitive joke about trans people committing suicide.
00:43:
What's not imaginary is Op actually getting banned for making an insensitive joke about trans people committing suicide.
00:47:
I wonder how Op sleeps at night when they find jokes about trans suicide funny
I suspect.
00:49:
Just like when it turned out that Op actually got banned for making an insensitive joke about trans suicide
00:50:
Without him we wouldn't have an insensitive joke about trans suicide being the actual reason for their ban π€
00:52:
Its because we don't live in a candy cane world. Also Op sure did fail at making people laugh when they actually commented an insensitive joke about trans suicide.
00:54:
Im willing to be if it means trying to prevent ignorance
00:56:
[Link to unddit] proof
00:58:
[Link to unddit] the proof is here but if you dont feel safe clicking a random link I can dm you a picture
That was their final comment - 50 minutes from their first comment to their last....
At least, until 13 hours later, when they followed up a lot of their comments, including some with at least some self-awareness:
I did, also I am sorry about the spam I shouldnt have pervaded through every comment
Being offended by something online, spending an hour refusing to let it go and "posting receipts" everywhere, before coming back 13 hours later with remorse "sorry I overreacted" is possibly the most womanly thing possible, so, congrats on the successful transition, I guess?
