I have never gone to a animiecon and the good years were before 2015 before the normies got into it so why even bother going at this point.

I genuinely don't see the point of cons post web 2.0 era aside from spreading herpes. When they originally started the dorks that actually liked crap like this would be relentlessly mocked and ostracized so it made sense to have a meetup with their fellow rejects. If you look up old pics everyone was ugly including the handful of girls. Info wasn't instantly accessible and in depth like it is now so having panels and industry guests meant something. And you couldn't by every single thing with the click of a button so vendor booths made sense.
