Bardfinn's take on pushshift isn't consistent based on what we know about Bardfinn. This is the guy who claimed to curate his own off-site database tracking thousands of users, which basically boiled down to searching pushshift and using those various tagging plugins to identify whether users were good or bad.
Now, in the same post he's talking about how he tracks "criminal groups", he's also talking about privacy violations and GDPR? Pot and kettle Bardfinn you giant twat. Your engaged in the exact same activity your complaining about.
One key thing about Bardfinn is he always seem to come down in support of the authority in any given controversy. He sides with the police when they're under fire, he sides with Reddit, always, when they're under fire, and he treats private companies' terms of service like it's the law. Clearly a symptom of his autism, but it does lead to idealogical inconsistency for him. You can't say that off-site Reddit archives are a privacy breach while also boasting of your own off-site Reddit archive.
Can't wait until he dies. Hope it will be soon.
