Some history: sports subs on reddit are increasingly soy-filled. /r/eagles supported the /r/NoNewNormal blackout too because that has a lot to do with football.
Guy dunks on mods for their bullshit reasons, unilaterally taking down the sub.
Mods are really leaning hard on this blind-people angle. This is really the #1 point? Do they think this resonates? Are they really this neurodivergent?
Blind users cannot use Reddit's official mobile app at all. This community seeks to support and assist all Eagles fans, regardless of their ability, in enjoyment of the fandom. Directly harming our fellow fans is supremely problematic.
You guys shouldn't be "going dark" without a vote from the users of the sub. This isn't your subreddit.
we care that faceless corporate decisions are actively going to harm a whole swathe of us.

Condescending β , over inflated self-importance β , thinking they know what is best for other people more than they know themselves β . No wonder you got put on the mod team, you have all the qualifications.
Mods pretend like reddit is going to take away their bot for gameday threads (1 per week lmao)
One thing we took into consideration is the bot we use for gameday threads. While our bot will not be affected at this time due to being below a certain traffic threshold, it's entirely possible reddit lowers their limit and then our bot stops working (unless we pay lots of money).
Then post the threads manually like we used to for years on other sports subs? We're talking about what, maybe 65 posts per year that you would need to post? Divide it up amongst the mods if that's too much. You can use the post scheduling and knock it out ahead of time too.
The more I read about this the more I'm leaning towards the side of Reddit.
Mods talk about how the trust the community (see: top mod) gives them.
Correct. We're no more important than any of you. However, because of the trust granted to us by the community, we do represent those whose voices are smaller than our collective will.
More users notice that mods are just flexing their power.
Great reminder that a lot of subreddits only exist when the mods are happy and satisfied with how things are going.

Every thread is filled with users who don't gaf. Mods will go dark and users will rage and Reddit is gonna have to choose between powerjannies and their egos and pretending they care about blindcels and their user majority.
