I would never change my name and not even because of feminism but to avoid the bureaucratic nightmare. That said, whenever I have important appointments like that, especially ones that take forever to get, I triple check all my docs. How is it not obvious that you'll need to prove the valid name change if all your docs don't match? Idk if it's a burgerland thing because they seem to have a much more lackadaisical approach to official documents than I ever observed in my native shithole.

The issue is that in burgerland the people dealing with most of the official documents also largely lack critical thinking skills. Often times you’ll be told by government bureaucrats to bring the wrong documents.

I believe that's the case in every country, dealing with low level bureaucrats must be some sort of universal karmic punishment
