I had to do a group assignment at university, since I am in a medical related degree they emphasise that we "need to work in teams".
Myself and the two other members wrote our parts appropriately, except for the Sexy Indian dude who wrote a bunch of gibberish with inaccurate references that made no sense. During our presentation, I had to write a verbatim script he could go off, in effect writing his whole side of the presentation. Here I am 3 hours before the deadline still rewriting his side of the written part.

Talk to your professor if you think they aren't a hardass, show the shit you have to work with. Same thing happened multiple times to me with different groups, when I showed the teacher the writing and references the illiterates put in they were always more reasonable. I did the same thing for students when I ran labs, if you have proof I'm more willing to help out. Students are little fricks, can't trust em with anything
School diversity policies likely won't let them fail anyone without fallback on the teacher, but no reason for you to get fricked more than you have to

We did show our lecturer, basically it was "yeah your marks are gonna go down slightly as a whole, bad luck getting an ESLcel, but thanks for telling me". So there was no real way out, individually we will get a mark, and then a mark as a group. Out of 6 groups, 2 of us got Sexy Indian dudes, and the other groups were whiteoids/native-borns.

Ah that sucks, that's the "solution" some professors I know had when only part of the class gets fricked. Sounds like they're not gonna rock the boat, maybe they'll be sympathetic with individual scores but
