:marseylongpost:

tl;dr - Boyfriend told me my lady parts smelled rank despite knowing my extensive trauma history with being bullied for smelling bad.

C In cptsd stands for "made up"

I have no idea what it actually is. Is it just “I had a really shitty childhood and no one event traumatized me in particular”? Because I would diagnose that as “I had a really shitty childhood”.

stands for "complex"

Yeah I mean what complex means in context

It means that it can't be linked to a single event and is supposedly PTSD caused by an amalgamation of experiences. It's up there with BPD, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and lupus.

It means 'fake'. It's not a modifier to PTSD; it actually designates an entirely separate condition that is both more subtle and less intense, but also develops out of no specific event and is poorly studied because again, it's not real. It was a fake diagnosis created by munchies and grifters, for munchies and grifters.

It was originally meant for people who had PTSD-type experiences repeatedly like being tortured in a vietnamese war camp for two years or getting r*ped by a serial killer every day for eight years before escaping or what have you. BPD foids and their equally BPD therapists have turned it into "people have been mean to be sometimes." It's not in the DSM but it's therapist-code for "this b-word BPD but too BPD to accept being told she's BPD."

cptsd isn't in the DSM, but it's a label therapists will put on bitches with BPD when they don't want to diagnose them with BPD because """stigma""" or bc the b-word is too BPD to accept a BPD diagnosis

They were coworkers who were loud and moody and always went on about how independent they were.

It sounds incredibly made up, but I Googled and kept getting results. Is it just thing that the terminally online have decided they have?

I'll bite.

I have been officially diagnosed Avoidant Personality Disorder. Many of the people with this one also claim cPTSD. I think I could claim it too. I had a shit childhood. Was bullied since first grade until the end of middle school. I don't think I had a person I could call a friend for all those years. I constantly have weird dreams about it. All my dreams are about that era of time. They are not really nightmares, but it is always the same people around, and I'm always in shitty situations. Sometimes I'm conscious that I am dreaming, and can force myself to wake up. Since the end of middle school there have been more than 15 years. And I still dream about it. I'm in another country with other stressors, but I always dream of that shit.

If I google the diagnostic criteria I fit the vast majority of them. Does that make it real? I don't know, but I would not say it is entirely made up by BPD foids. (I don't have BPD)

Psych is not inherently quackery and grift, but the community is full of quackery and grift. Little categorizations would make sense if they weren't misapplied.

Something about these little r-slurations bums me out a lot. Real talk, boyfriend sounded like a peepee, but she went to alleged professionals who did not help her not break down at being called a "butt." I'd say she was lying about it, or was talking about life coaches or something, but it's always been a thing for plenty of psychs to be little validation and pontification parties instead of hard work on coping skills.

Or this is fake and we are all r-slurred on this good day that Christ has given us.
