1st in the list is similar to @sneedman's interpretation in https://rdrama.net/post/189529/i-feel-like-a-lot-of where he/she feels like people misinterpret the movie's intended themes
Also i figured something out about reddit, if you do not vote, either up or down, then the % score never alters, so whenever you see a sub 90% score then it's often contoversial
as always you'll notice the pattern that the strongest counter/contrarian view bests or most elequently expressed is not the top comment in all these threads
this is
some polite disagreements; here is what i feel, and why i feel sneedman is disproportinately charitable to the film.
Barbie movies are very serious business

Next on the list is top post of /r/truefilm
https://old.reddit.com/r/TrueFilm/comments/156zt07/the_barbie_movie_to_me_seemed_to_be_supportive/
The soy interpretation from /r/ftm and /r/menslibbers as usual
one brave soul says it was the most manhating movie ever!
chode gets worked up expecting what the chud media will say!
lots of indivudual outrage
one fool calls out the mean spiritedness of the themes in the movie
one let's it slip that he believes the movie totally ISN'T COMING TO INDOCTRINATE YOUR KIDS
Once again the most reasonable contrarian position is NOT the top comment after the echo chamber hugboxing
redditor liberals are all stunningly full of shit
And finally this comment, on why sneedman's review really REALLY bothered me
Alternatively why incels like myself took a different interpretation and dislike of the movie
ALIEN AND TERMINATOR WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE EXACT SAME REACTION TODAY
THE CHUD TUBERS LIKE CRITICAL DRINKER MISINTERPRETED MISSOMMAR
Oh by the way as for the Critical Drinker misinterpreting Midsommar as celebrating the cruelty against men as Yasss kween girlboss themes, here is a video from a deceisively liberal youtuber KillCount, where he tallies all the kills from Horror Movies In recent years KillCount evolved from a generic horror jank reviewer into a much better film analyst where he discusses the themes of films, and goes over the props, background and set construction of movies, making him stand out brightly in my opinion, as having more to add in the reviewing of horror movies than his peers.
I know he's very liberal becuase he's an unironic Trans Rights person, and regularly champions liberal stuff in his videos.
When Midsommar released, in the plot a shitty boyfriend suffered a truly gruesome horrifying fate, and many liberal and reddit peeps were Yass Kweening the fact that her divine just vengeance. Yet in context of the film, her supposed retribution was so wildly disproportionate a punishment to his misdeeds, and the celebration of the events online so alarming even to liberal men like KillCount, that he actually had to add a disclaimer in his review and podcast
Starting from 29 minutes; he states how this is NOT in fact a truly female empowered moment.
Even some of the top comments reflect their agreement of the climax end of the movie
Showing it's not just conservatards misinterpreting the core themes of movies these days, if it isn't successfully communicated via a film.

I'll just dump my thoughts on this thing here, since I don't know if I will get any more posts about it:
While I have not seen the film, I choose to believe it's bad feminist preachfest, not really because of the Hollywood hive mind, but because most writers there are hacks, and a blunt propaganda piece is easier to write than a more complex and fair allegorical critique of gender relations. I just don't believe they are capable of writing the version of the film, most people defending it imagine having seen.
My biggest problem with Barbie at the baisc level is that, using non-human allegories to critique humans muddies the subject needlessly and is often shit. Zootopia is a terrible allegory for race relation, Barbie World is a terrible allegory for gender relations. It theoretically works in films favour (as long as it's not viewed as a direct commentary on real world issues), since Kens are by design mental untermensch-en compared to Barbies, their subservience is somewhat less malicious to women being subservient in real world (it's still amoral). But I have hard time believing the writers had this in mind when creating the script, and viewed it as a mirror to the real world which it is not.
Reflecting my assumption is everyone else critiquing this film treating both real world and Barbie world in the film as somewhat equivalent.
TLDR: about little girls film, by someone with no talent for good sentence structure.

Feels like a missed opportunity to stir drama by insisting the film is anti-semitic.

You say this but the original plot had jews? being oppressed. The scene is not something you'd expect from zootopia.

Holy shit, the original plot was actually good?

It seemed much darker. I don't think they would've gotten away with it as a kids movie

I donβt think the majority of people watching this film are doing so because of the feminist message. When I went to watch Oppenheimer last Saturday the Movie Theater was packed with girls and zoomer boys in pink and decorated with pink balloons. One of my work colleagues is a millennial architect and she says she is going to watch the movie next weekend wearing pink because it looks cute and because Margot Robbie looks great as Barbie.

Oh, I agree. It had a tremendous marketing. I actually believe the content of the film has little impact on the audience numbers.
People go because they want in on Barbenheimer, they think Margot Robbie looks good, and of course they want to witness new Ryan Gosling persona. Many are probably surprised with the messaging of the film.

Honestly watching a movie because the woman is attractive and the man is a powerhouse personality, is so darn traditional that I can see this movie being treated as untasteful in liberal circles within a few years. Although I get the feeling ppl might forget about it like they did for Mad Max Fury Road. Member in 2015 when it was the GOAT feminist movie?

Its barbie.
Barbie promotes incredibly unhealthy body image issues in women as well as consumerism well beyond comical or satirical levels.
Anyone saying this movie helps anyone is r-slurred. Im glad margot robie looks like barbie as she would die trying like multiple other women have

That's because they are genuinely wingcucked enough to believe (or insist in, literally, bad faith) that the status of women in the real world is on par with the status of men in the Barbie world.

I donβt get it. Foids in the west would like to play make believe about being oppressed but ignore actual oppression to not offends the browns. Like German chick who didnβt go to the police when she was r*ped by immigrants.

Ill post some thoughts later but i liked it, itβs obviously going to be feminist, itβs the barbie movie. Did you expect her to start talking about a future race war or something later? It also isnβt βmen badβ feminism, they also criticize feminism during the movie.
If you canβt watch it youre a chud

The feminist angle was expected because its current year. You can make a film for girls, and women without any overt feminism though, and feminism itself is not a problem.
From what I've seen, and heard of this film (both it's critics, and defenders), it really does look like the standard men bashing you get from Hollywood today, and any soft critique of feminism is not going to offset it.
I've been had.
Anyway, maybe I pirate it so I can get the full picture.
