Ralph "The Malph" Vaughn Williams was born in the Surrey Village of Downs Syndrome and was the Great Nephew of the Godless heathen Charles Darwin.
He wrote a load of music but, like most composers, the majority of it was plinky-plonky shit and only some of it was suitable for use in television advertising. He is most famous for "The Lark Ascending" and "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" which has absolutely nothing to do with Mickey Mouse making broomsticks come to life.
British people mostly respond to his music by saying "Aaaaah, it's fukkin' lovely that is, aaaaaaah" and then drinking six pints of piss-warm beer with toenail clippings floating in it.
