The entire case relies on an assertion that Trump knew there wasn't vote fraud. While his allies were adamant that they had no concrete proof of it, this doesn't demonstrate that Trump lied. I expect his defense will go ahead and try to prove a reasonable suspicion of fraud, but the rabidly partisan judge they've appointed will shut it down.
That's not to mention that half the charges revolve around trying to make challenging the election result into a criminal conspiracy, when this was entirely legal to do.

It's not necessary to prove absolutely that Trump didn't know he lost. It's only necessary to prove that he should have known he lost. The top of his justice department, multiple companies that he hired, Republican secretaries of states and their lawyers, all the people around him that actually knew what they were talking about all told told him there was no fraud and he lost. Instead he decided to listen to John Eastman and Rudy Giuliani. That's going to look to a reasonable jury like he just didn't want to hear that he lost.
Anyways, the charges revolve around a criminal conspiracy that doesn't require proving he knew he was lying: the fake electors scheme.

The "fake electors" claim is about Trump's team registering their own electors with the intention of them being immediately recognised and ready to elect him if the court challenges succeeded. Calling them "fake" was disingenuous from the start, there's no case there.
