Really going for that "christians are actually evil incarnate, here's my gofundme" cliche. If they turned her away it's because of something she did, and I'd bet the church still offered to give her food for the kids. Literally the only thing that I believe is that she got rejected for survivor benefits because she was still counted under her husbands income.

For as much as I disagree with churches, Iโve never met anyone in charge of one that wouldnโt go out of their way to provide food for somebody in need. Especially a single mother.
Iโd say even most cops would be willing to throw her $20 or a bag of groceries.
