No, they don’t. You wrote this entire thing like a plaintext PowerPoint presentation for a middle management fiscal meeting, you could at least be genuine with your wording. What you meant here, and throughout the entire post, is that community health is being used as a byword for stakeholder-friendly optics. Reddit corporate hasn’t given a thousandth of a darn about actual communities on Reddit in years. Which is completely fine. But be straight about it. Or, at the very least, don’t spend hours drafting drivel like this with the express purpose of talking down to your customers-slash-products who know full well that they’re being talked down to.

He's not wrong and I had the same initial thoughts - it sounds like a marketing update meeting to stakeholders to show them we're "on plan to meet our growth targets".

"Community Safety" means "Advertiser Friendly" and him not sharing any metrics that they use (despite his claim of "complete transparency") was really shitty and just goes farther to demonstrate that the don't want to be transparent with their products / customers.

This just stinks of "Hey we're breaking into foreign markets and need you free employees to make sure you're moderating better so we can get more ad revenue in foreign language subs". It's not about community safety or community health at all.
