Lol SSD's have been incredibly cheap for the past decade. HDD's last a max of ~5-6yrs of regular use before they start lagging your entire computer. No excuse for not upgrading, tbh.

Nowadays they are almost the same price/TB as HDD's in low capacities. HDD's only start making sense in higher capacities like 8TB as large file storage.

Hard drives are still useful for storing large amounts of media that don't need to be quickly accessed on a regular basis. For example, my goon files work just fine on my 8tb hdd.

Yeah I'm more talking about boot drives. NAS drives still have a place. But there have been some recent advances in SSD's that make me think that SSD enclosures will start being economical in a few years.

Windows 10 assumes you have an SSD so it writes to disk all the time. You really ought to have one.
