I hate the fake apologies these people always do, it's like they follow a script copying one another.

They always defend themselves saying they didn't really do anything but continually apologize the whole time to avoid accountability.

Either own up to making mistakes or make an argument for you not being at fault. It's always, "I'm so sorry for hitting on a minor.
