A furry passed out at some convention and got r*ped. He is given solid advice on how to prevent this in the future, but most people didn't approve of that.

Edit: it looks like our Chad "don't drink and you won't get r*ped" furry deleted his account in response to all the shit he was taking. Here's some of the more r-slurred responses he received.

Edit 2: nevermind found another link. He deleted the reply but kept the tweet on timeline up.

Hopefully he doesn't puss out and take this one down too:

Gets r*ped

Is given advice on how to avoid getting r*ped in the future

Is offended to get actual solutions instead of sympathy.

Women have high rates of repeatedly getting domestically assaulted or sexually abused, likely due to their unwillingness to accept that there are things they can do to stop it happening again in the future.

Somehow victim blaming culture did this.

Men infest everywhere, we can't very well avoid them entirely. The advice is bad.

Women seem to either not get r*ped at all, or get r*ped time and time again. Almost like there are parameters that predators are attracted to that you could pattern match and avoid as necessity demands.

Note: I am not providing a solution to r*pe, as there is no 100% solution to crimes like r*pe and murder except killing everybody or lobotomizing everybody. Instead my answer caters to solutions for the individual to protect themselves.

Ikr, when you see someone nearing 30 talking about how they've been in multiple abusive relationships and multiple assaults... it's like wtf is even going on in their day-to-day? I could have years go by with nothing significant happening in my life, how are they entering and leaving relationships on a monthly basis? Do they live their entire life by the seat of their pants, no roots anywhere? Are these the same people who get a new address and phone number annually?

He's just said he's never going to a furry convention again, seems he's taking steps to ensure this will not repeat.

Nah it's way more complicated than that.

It's too complicated to really go into it in detail (i.e. I don't care enough to write an essay) but the short version is that the psychological effects of r*pe and/or abuse, especially in childhood, will predispose people to subconsciously seek out similar situations in the future. Essentially, the brain can't deal with a truly traumatic event in a normal way, and this leads to someone not being able to cope with the fact that X happened. Sometimes they'll be in denial, or sometimes they'll know it happened but be unable to emotionally deal with it. So they will subconsciously seek out similar situations in an effort to essentially "go back" and give the story a different ending. It's obviously not a good way to handle traumatic experiences, but it's a pretty common response and it can be really hard for people to break if they don't understand what's happening in their brain. They're not stupid, and they're not doing it intentionally. They're just trapped in an echo.

That adds more context to what I said without disproving anything I said.

Anyways I am glad there are you all who add additional things that I miss out.

Thanks for the feedback.

Well it's not that they're refusing to accept there's anything they can do. Consciously they're probably doing a bunch of things to try and protect themselves, the subconscious going wild will just really frick a b-word up.

Woman brain is stupid--they defer to the crowd on everything, and oppose anything that goes against the crowds will, so they develop this extreme either-or thinking where you're either a pure and innocent victim, or a bad guy deserving whatever you get.
