Japanese entrepreneur Takafumi ‘Horiemon' Horie, best known as the founder of the Internet portal Livedoor, recently spoke out against the use of mosaic in AV, claiming that Japan is ‘losing tax money' due to the censorship with users turning to overseas websites.

“So why do we even use mosaic?” asked Horiemon on his YouTube channel. The entrepreneur wanted to point out that anyone from Japan could easily visit an uncensored AV website overseas. “Why does Japan prohibit this? It makes no sense.”

“It's better without mosaics for the sake of Japan's economy,” he continued while explaining that having Japanese customers visit foreign pornography websites means they would be paying money to overseas distribution companies that get taxed in their countries instead of Japan.

“Taxes (from distribution companies) that should have been paid to Japan (by Japanese users watching) are being taken away!” exclaimed Horiemon, who emphasized that ‘national wealth' is being drained away due to the police's interpretation.

“The national wealth is bleeding! The tax money that should be going to us is being drained due to the police's idiocy. I'm being serious. I mean, we're all watching videos with the mosaics removed.”
