Immovable stupidity meets unstoppable autism in a small scale modelling groomercord

Any use in helping a modeler who's stubborn?

I'm in a server where there is a 15 year old who is very stubborn. Me and multiple people have tried helping him with giving him advice. The issue is, he doesn't take it.

I keep suggesting:

stop watching model minutes because he actively promotes Airfix (which is a crappy company) and bc he doesn't give very good advice. I recommended some great YouTubers, night shift, max_afterburner, plasmo, etc.. and he didn't even watch half of them. He watched nightshift until he said bad stuff about revell, because revell is a genuinely bad company. He said he didn't like nightshift because of that. We tell him airfix and revell are bottom of the barrel model company's and he says no they're great. He has said that tamiya isn't as good as airfix. My jaw dropped.

Next thing I tell him to do is to thin his paint. He alcohol based paint with water. Sure it can be done, but it's not recommended. Someone then joked with him saying use spit, and he genuinely asked if spit is a good thinner. I was shocked, and genuinely thought he was trolling.

He also can't airbrush or even spray paint. He brushes on airbrush primer and uses model air paints, as well as craft paints. He then asks why these paints don't look good? I asked if his dad could spray for him, and he said only if he pays his dad $50. Now me personally, that sounds like a shit thing to do to your child. His parents won't let him spray anything, yet he can use toxic paint and thinner.

He also asked if smelling thinner was good. I was at my wits end with the kid.

How do I help this kid?

He is free to ignore your advice, and bluntly, your advice isn't even that good anyway.

Your comments about model kit brands are particularly lacking in self awareness or a sense of irony.

I also am unclear why this requires a separate question in this thread, especially since you deleted the earlier thread where people didn't tell you what you wanted to hear (and very rightly so, I might add).

That includes reporting that guy to the other forums mod team mostly because he disagreed with you.

Do yourself and us a favor: don't do that here.
