I had expired tags once. The copper pulled me over one my way to Chic-Fil-A, checked my loiscence and insurance, and said "hey you need to renenw your tags" and then told me to have a nice day.
Thankfully by the grace of God I was somehow compelled to not go speeding through congested streets

A friend I knew had tags 6 months expired and the cop initially thought it was an old woman since it was a buick. Depending on the cop, they don't see it as a big deal as long as you have insurance and think it wasn't intentional.

I've never heard of it being a big deal. I had moved a few months prior and my state's DMV thinks the only way to do business is by mail because it's 1950. I feel like most of them know how r-slurred our governmental apparatus can be, and understand that plate renewal isn't on people's minds every arbitrary day that they bought their car.

I changed residency back to one state and apparently was able to pay my 2022 taxes and get my tag but I apparently didnt pay my 2019 vehicle property tax when I left that state. In 2023 I didn't get a new sticker despite paying and the system didn't tell my why. The women at the tax office told me it happens more often than you think and didn't see failure to pay taxes 2-3 years ago as a big deal. I never understand the people that assume malice.

No frick that. Why don't we discuss the fact that you want to garnish the wages of otherwise upstanding citizens (that were put in the unfortunate position of having to flee police for their safety). Forcing them into a life of violent crime to recoup said wages, contributing to the further decay of marginalized communities, which will undoubtedly lead to more police interactions that will put even more lives at risk.
