We've been hearing about Texas flipping blue for almost a decade now and it's never actually been that close... People use nationwide trends to try and say their demographics should swing it blue but it simply isn't true.
They haven't had a Democrat as Senator in 31 years or a Democrat as Governor in 29 years. They haven't gone blue in a presidential election since 1976. It's a deep red state with blue cities that trends less red in "blue wave" years like 2018.
